Dublin’s Wellness Summit 2026

This week, the healthStay team attended the Wellness Summit 2026 in Dublin, which brought together voices from across healthcare, rehabilitation and wellness to explore how care is evolving.

Across the sessions, one message stood out: healthcare and wellness are increasingly converging, but delivering truly patient centred care requires more than clinical excellence alone.

The experience surrounding that care matters too.

🔗 Great Care Can Still Have a Broken Journey

Healthcare providers can deliver exceptional clinical outcomes while patients still experience frustration getting to and through that care.

Complex processes, unclear communication, disconnected systems and movement between public and private healthcare can create friction at multiple stages of the patient journey.

For healthStay, this discussion felt particularly relevant.

Our own story began with a personal experience of healthcare where the quality of care was not the problem. Communication, transparency and the administrative journey surrounding it were.

It reinforced an important point from the Summit: improving healthcare isn't only about what happens during treatment. We also need to improve how patients reach that treatment and what happens afterwards.

💡 From First Enquiry to Aftercare

One of the standout discussions came from Alison Enright, Director of Therapy Services for the Rehabilitation Transformation Programme at St James’s Hospital and HSE Dublin and Midlands.

Her session explored rehabilitation transformation and the importance of supporting patients across the full continuum of care, from prevention and treatment through to rehabilitation and long term self management.

A truly connected patient journey requires everyone involved in that pathway to work together.

That means engaging stakeholders across the care journey, enabling medical documentation to move effectively throughout the treatment cycle, and keeping patients informed with clear and consistent communication.

The technology supporting healthcare needs to make that collaboration easier, not more complicated.

🤖 Technology Should Support the Care Being Delivered

It was enlightening to hear about the work already taking place to enhance patient care across Ireland and internationally.

But as models of care evolve, the infrastructure behind them needs to evolve too.

Modern healthcare technology should help remove operational friction, connect different stages of the patient journey and give patients greater visibility into what happens next.

This is precisely the challenge healthStay was created to address.

healthStay helps streamline and automate the operational journey behind patient care, connecting communication, workflows and existing systems so providers can deliver a more transparent and seamless experience.

The technology isn't there to replace the people delivering care. It is there to make it easier for those people to deliver the experience their patients deserve.

🌍 Healthcare and Wellness Are Converging

Another clear theme from the Wellness Summit was that the traditional boundaries between healthcare, rehabilitation, prevention and wellness continue to shift.

Sessions explored everything from technology enabled rehabilitation and women's health to mental health literacy, medical wellness and long term recovery.

While the areas of care may differ, the need for continuity, communication and patient centricity connects them.

As healthcare becomes more integrated, the systems supporting it need to become more connected too.

🚀 Building the Infrastructure Around Great Care

Our biggest takeaway from Dublin is a simple one:

Great care deserves a great patient journey.

Healthcare providers are already doing extraordinary work to improve treatment, rehabilitation and patient outcomes.

The opportunity now is to ensure the operational infrastructure surrounding that care keeps pace.

At healthStay, that's exactly where we're focused: helping providers reduce friction, connect workflows and create a clearer journey for every patient, from their first enquiry through to post treatment care.

A big thank you to everyone involved in Wellness Summit 2026 for the conversations, insights and perspectives shared throughout the day.
